The Red Lion at Kniveton is situated on the southern edge of the Peak
District National Park,
a few miles NE of the Georgian market town of Ashbourne - the Gateway to Dovedale, famous for
the ancient game of 'Shrovetide'. The towns of Wirksworth and Matlock are a short drive
away.
Carsington Water with it's sailing club and watersports centre, also popular with walkers and
cyclists, is on our door step.
